2024 General Assembly embraces Polish government delegates for discourse on propelling automotive evolution

The automotive industry in Eastern Europe took centre stage at the 2024 General Assembly held in Warsaw, with key discussions led by industry experts.

The event, co-organised by the Association of Automotive Parts Distributors and Producers (SDCM), welcomed over 100 participants, including 11 national associations and 80 corporate and associate members.

Prominent speakers at the Assembly included Minister Krzysztof Bolesta from Poland's Ministry of Climate and Environment, and Ministers Miłosz Motyka and Ignacy Niemczycki, who joined the event on its second day.

The Assembly's focus was on discussing the future of the automotive industry in Poland and across the EU. During the Roundtable discussions, Mr. Mark Nicklas shared insights on the green transition of the automotive industry in Eastern Europe.

The event marked a significant milestone with several companies joining the list of associate members. Upstream was one of the new associate members, joining forces with established names such as Deutz, DOW, Good Year, JOST, LG Electronics, PHINIA, and TRANE Technologies.

Mr. Benjamin Krieger, Secretary General of the organising body, approved the association's membership composition and annual accounts, while Mr. Matthias Zink, CEO Automotive Technologies at Schaeffler and President of the same body, inaugurated the event.

The General Assembly also confirmed new and re-elected members of the Board and recognized 9 new members, including Upstream.

Mr. Tomasz Bęben, President of the SDCM Management Board, stated that Poland is one of the world leaders in the production of automotive parts.

The organization that organized the 2024 General Assembly in Warsaw, welcoming more than 100 participants from 11 national associations and 80 companies and associate members to discuss the future of the automotive industry in Poland and the EU, is yet to be identified.
