The 2025 Asia Cup is set to take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from September 9 to September 28. The tournament, which was shifted to the UAE due to ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, will see eight teams competing, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Hong Kong.

The BCCI remains the official host of the tournament, and the event will be broadcast in India on Sony Sports Network, with live streaming available on SonyLiv app and website. In the UAE and MENA, CricLife and StarzPlay will air the Asia Cup 2025, while in Bangladesh, Gazi TV, Toffee, and Tapmad will provide coverage of the tournament. In Pakistan, the tournament will be aired on PTV Sports HD, Tapmad, and Myco, and in Sri Lanka, Sirasa TV, TV-1, and Dialog ViU app will broadcast the Asia Cup 2025.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium is known for its batting-friendly pitches and has hosted numerous India vs Pakistan clashes. Sheikh Zayed Stadium, on the other hand, offers a more balanced pitch and has seen competitive contests across formats. Both venues will host all 19 matches of the Asia Cup 2025, with Dubai set to stage the final.

Each team will play three group matches, and the top two from each group will qualify for the Super Four. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.

The Asia Cup began in 1984 as a three-team event featuring India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, and has since evolved in both format and scale. This year's edition returns to the T20 format, following the 2023 ODI edition. Reports suggest that the prize money for the Asia Cup 2025 will be increased, with the winners expected to receive USD 300,000 (approx. INR 2.6 crore). However, there is no official announcement regarding the prize money from the Asian Cricket Council at this time.

The Asia Cup 2025 serves as a preparatory event for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup scheduled for early 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Fans can look forward to a thrilling tournament as the teams gear up for the international stage.
