3D Scanning Enhancement with Artec Studio 20: A Fresh Perspective in Your Tools

Artec Studio 20, the latest iteration of Artec 3D's powerful software, has been unveiled, bringing significant improvements to their range of 3D scanners and enhancing their functionality for various industries.

One of the key features of Artec Studio 20 is its scripting automation with ZEISS Inspect tools, providing a new interface that streamlines the process for users working in inspection and quality control.

The Artec Micro II, a desktop 3D scanner, has received an enhancement with the addition of HD Mode, 3-axis scanning, and improved resolution. This upgrade allows for the capture of 4x more data points with each scan, boosting fine detail capture.

Artec Spider II, a handheld 3D scanner, now includes Live Scan Decimation for more efficient scanning and real-time fusion. This feature delivers high-detail, lightweight models, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

Multi-camera support in Artec Studio 20 allows for various hardware combinations like drones, smartphones, handycams, or DSLR cameras for photogrammetry data capture. This versatility opens up new possibilities for users looking to capture data in unique and challenging environments.

RCP file support has been added in Artec Studio 20, providing compatibility with popular BIM platforms like Autodesk Revit. This integration streamlines the workflow for architects and engineers working on building information modelling projects.

Masking for texturing in Artec Studio 20 prevents objects from blurring with their background, ensuring a clean and professional finish for 3D models. Refined masking in AI Photogrammetry results in realistic, artifact-free 3D models, requiring minimal editing for various applications.

Artec Studio 20's sharp image prioritization ensures that only the best possible frames are chosen from uploaded photos or videos for maximum realism. This feature is particularly useful for users working in CGI and VFX, where high-quality visuals are essential.

Enhanced USD file support in Artec Studio 20 increases the software's functionality for these users, making it easier to integrate 3D scans into various projects.

Artec will be offering demos at the Formnext trade show in Frankfurt in November, giving users the opportunity to see these new features in action. The Artec Studio 20 will also be demonstrated at the Formnext 2025 trade fair, which takes place from November 18 to 21, 2025, in Frankfurt am Main.

Improvements have also been made to Artec Leo and Artec Ray II, other devices in the Artec range. These include a fusion setting redesign and workflow automation, making these devices even more efficient and user-friendly.

Lastly, the Artec Point, an industrial laser scanner, has been upgraded for better visualization and a more intuitive scanning experience.

Artec Studio 20 is available now on Artec3d.com, allowing users to take advantage of these new features and enhance their 3D scanning and product design capabilities.
