Join us for an enchanting evening as we welcome the renowned young adult author, Abdi Nazemian, to our city. Nazemian, a prominent figure in queer young adult literature, will be reading from his latest novel, "Only This Beautiful Moment".
Born in Iran and raised in the United States, Nazemian's works are deeply rooted in themes of identity, migration, and the courage to self-determination. His novel, "Only This Beautiful Moment", explores these themes beautifully, set against a historical and contemporary backdrop.
The event, suitable for young people aged around 14 and above, as well as adults, will be held in English. For those who prefer German, a simultaneous interpretation of selected passages will be provided. The reading is expected to last approximately 90 minutes, followed by a captivating conversation with the author.
Nazemian is not only a celebrated novelist but also a screenwriter for film and television. His contributions include notable productions such as "Call Me By Your Name" and "The Artist's Wife". His novels, including "The Authentics" and "Like a Love Story", have received widespread acclaim.
"Only This Beautiful Moment" is a multi-layered, emotional narrative that spans three generations of Iranian men. The men in the novel are connected by familial bonds but estranged by political circumstances, societal norms, and personal secrets.
