Fire Breaks Out at Vacant Residence in Winnipeg

A fire incident occurred at a vacant, two-and-a-half storey residence located in the 400 block of Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, on Sunday at 11:55 a.m. The building, which has a history of previous fires, was quickly attended to by fire crews.

Upon arrival, smoke was billowing from the house. Firefighters worked diligently to get the fire under control, with the incident being brought under control at 12:23 p.m. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.

The building in question has a troubled past, having caught fire three times before, with the most recent instances occurring in February and July 2025. Despite this, a search of the house revealed no occupants.

The owner of the property has not been publicly disclosed. The current status of the house and any damage caused by the recent fire are yet to be assessed, with no damage estimates available at this time.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. As the investigation continues, the community hopes for a resolution and a safer future for the residents of Aberdeen Avenue.
