AC/DC's Timeless Style Revamped: Pro-Ject Audio Systems Contribute Turntable Technology for Unique Makeover
Pro-Ject Audio Systems, the Austrian company known for its high-quality audio equipment, has released a new addition to its Artist Series – the Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable. This special edition turntable is a tribute to the iconic Australian rock band, AC/DC.
The Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable features a unique design, modelled after the band's lightning strike font. The turntable's low resonance tonearm is specially designed for this edition, with slashed lighting strikes, one in red, and a smaller handle for lifting the arm onto the vinyl. The tonearm's red handle stands out against the turntable's specially shaped gloss black MDF plinth, which rests on three spiked feet for stability.
The sub-platter of the turntable is transparent and lit from within by a red LED, with a solid circular red glass platter located above it. This gives the turntable a striking, visually appealing appearance that is reminiscent of AC/DC's iconic branding.
The Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge is featured in the Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable, ensuring a high-quality sound experience for music enthusiasts.
Heinz Lichtenegger, the founder of Pro-Ject Audio Systems, has a history of partnerships and special editions, including previous collaborations with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
AC/DC's official store is currently well-stocked with vinyl re-issues of their extensive back catalog. Many of these vinyl re-issues were pressed on gold vinyl to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary in 2023.
