Academy standout from Arsenal parts ways with the team amicably, having made senior appearances during the current season.

Malcolm Ebiowei, a former Arsenal academy graduate, has left League One side Blackpool after less than a month. The club announced Ebiowei's departure in a brief statement, confirming that the player's departure was by mutual consent.

Ebiowei joined Blackpool in August, signing a two-year contract at Bloomfield Road. However, his tenure with the club was short-lived. During his brief spell, Ebiowei made appearances off the bench for Blackpool against Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle, Mansfield Town, and Port Vale this season.

Prior to Blackpool, Ebiowei had a journeyman career since leaving Arsenal's academy setup in 2019. He had loan spells at RWD Molenbeek in Belgium and Oxford United last season. Before that, he spent six years with Chelsea's pre-academy setup, followed by four seasons at Arsenal's Hale End youth base.

Ebiowei's time at Blackpool was marked by inconsistency. He was absent from Blackpool's matchday squad for the 1-1 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers last weekend. With Blackpool currently fifth-bottom in English football's third tier after six matches, the club may have decided to part ways with Ebiowei to focus on more promising prospects.

Despite the brief stint, Ebiowei's current value is £1.2 million according to Transfermarkt, reflecting his potential and the promise he showed during his time at Arsenal's academy. Before joining Blackpool, Ebiowei had a successful stint at Championship outfit Derby County in 2021, making 16 appearances.

Now, Ebiowei is a free agent and is reportedly looking for a new club. His departure from Blackpool marks another chapter in his career, and fans will be eager to see where he lands next.
