Accident in Dubai: Lorry veers off course, collides with bus stop, injuring two individuals
In a recent incident, a lorry crashed into a bus stop on Al Nahda Street in Dubai, opposite the metro station. The Dubai Police's Operations Room received a tip-off about the accident, and traffic patrols were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and manage traffic.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, the Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, emphasized the significance of following traffic laws and maintaining road awareness. He also urged everyone to drive responsibly, especially in busy areas and around bus stops and metro stations.
Two individuals were injured in the accident, one with severe injuries and the other with moderate injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment. Rescue and ambulance teams collaborated with traffic patrols to ensure a swift response.
Sudden lane changes are one of the leading causes of serious accidents, according to Brig. Bin Suwaidan. He encouraged motorists to conduct regular vehicle inspections for roadworthiness to minimize such risks.
The damaged vehicle and debris were cleared from the site, and traffic patrols redirected vehicles to alternative routes to minimize congestion and restore a smooth traffic flow. Experts from the Traffic Accidents Department arrived to conduct a technical assessment and gather evidence.
Dubai Police is actively running awareness campaigns to enhance traffic safety, as stated by Brig. Bin Suwaidan. The aim of these campaigns is to reduce risky driving behaviors that could lead to accidents. The Dubai Police continue to urge drivers to act with caution to ensure safety for themselves and other road users.
