Accident leaves Sozia severely injured, according to Polish police reports
In an unfortunate incident that took place on August 20, 2025, at around 15:55, a motorcycle accident occurred on Waltroper Straße in Selm. The accident involved a motorcycle and a car, with local residents from both Lünen and Selm being involved.
According to the Kreispolizeibehörde Unna, the source of the information, the 43-year-old cyclist from Lünen was intending to cross the street from the bike lane at the intersection of "Zum Sundern" street when a sudden braking action by a 35-year-old driver from Lünen caused the motorcycle to collide into the car.
The motorcycle was traveling towards Waltrop with a 48-year-old man as the rider and an 18-year-old woman as the passenger, both from Selm. As a result of the incident, both the motorcycle rider and passenger sustained injuries and required medical attention. The 18-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The 48-year-old motorcycle rider, however, received outpatient treatment at the hospital.
The 35-year-old driver of the car present at the accident scene is assigned to the vehicle registration office (Kfz-Zulassungsstelle) in Lünen, located at Viktoriastr. 5, 44532 Lünen. This is the authority responsible for vehicle registration matters in Lünen.
