Accident Occurs: Individual Strolls on Asphalt, Leaves Two Slightly Harmed
On August 24th, at around 2:15 PM, a collision occurred on Dortmund Street in Hamm-Herringen involving a Mercedes and a BMW. The incident involved a 50-year-old Mercedes driver from Hamm, a 48-year-old passenger, and a 32-year-old BMW driver from Lünen, along with a 29-year-old passenger in the BMW.
According to the Police Headquarters Hamm, the accident was caused when the BMW had to brake suddenly to avoid hitting a pedestrian, a 62-year-old resident of Ense, who stepped onto the road without looking. Unfortunately, the Mercedes, driven by the 50-year-old, was unable to stop in time and collided with the BMW from behind.
The pedestrian was transported to a psychiatric department of a hospital following the accident. Both the Mercedes driver and passenger, as well as the BMW driver and passenger, sustained slight injuries and were taken to the hospital via ambulance. A ten-month-old child in the BMW was also taken to the hospital as a precaution but was unharmed in the accident.
The Mercedes sustained severe damage and required towing. The BMW, which was traveling out of town, was not severely damaged.
