Accident on BAB 3 resulting in injury, causing temporary road blockage
On Thursday, July 24, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on the A3 near Wiesbaden, Germany, at approximately 15:47 Uhr. The incident took place at km 144.3 on the A3, in the direction of Würzburg.
Two lanes on the A3 heading south were closed due to the accident, causing a significant disruption to traffic. The southbound lane had to be partially closed for approximately two hours, resulting in a standstill of traffic on the A3. To manage the situation, traffic came to a standstill, and a queue up to 12 kilometers long was formed on the opposite lane due to rubbernecking.
The accident involved three cars: a Chevrolet, a Toyota, and a Tesla. The driver of the Chevrolet failed to notice the stopped traffic and collided with the Toyota. The Toyota was then pushed into the Tesla in front of it. Unfortunately, the driver of the Chevrolet collided with the median barrier during the accident.
Six people were lightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals for further examination. Two of the cars involved in the accident were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.
