Accused in Nova Scotia of committing sexual crimes against minors, an individual residing in Ontario is facing charges.

A 29-year-old man, who allegedly sent sexually explicit material and concerning messages to a teenager through social media in November 2022, was arrested in Woodstock, Ontario, in August 2023. The man, who has not been publicly named in available sources, was transported to Nova Scotia to face the charges against him.

The charges against the man are related to an incident involving a youth and sexual offence charges that occurred in Nova Scotia nearly three years ago. The RCMP traced the content to the suspect in Woodstock, Ontario, following a report received by Nova Scotia RCMP in November 2022.

In the report, a youth had received sexually explicit material and concerning messages through social media from an unknown person. The RCMP, in collaboration with Woodstock police, executed a search warrant at an Ontario home and seized electronic devices for forensic examination.

The man was charged by police in May 2023, and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest in August 2023. He was arrested on August 25, 2023, in Ontario. The electronic devices seized during the search warrant in Ontario are currently being examined for forensic evidence.

The ongoing investigation into the case is expected to result in additional charges. The man is currently in Nova Scotia to face the charges against him. The public will be updated as more information becomes available.
