Accused of Attempted Homicide
Woman from Vogt Sentenced for Attempted Manslaughter
A 43-year-old woman from Vogt, a district in Ravensburg, has been sentenced by the Ravensburg Regional Court for attempting to kill her ex-husband with a kitchen knife. The incident occurred in March.
The man and the defendant shared the kitchen and dining room, with the man living on the ground floor and the woman residing upstairs with their two children. Despite their separation, they continued to live under the same roof in the same house.
The dispute that led to the attack was over a laptop. The man is said to have damaged the laptop before the attack, which triggered a fit of rage in the defendant.
The defendant confessed to the crime during the trial and expressed remorse for her actions. A psychiatric expert was involved in the proceedings due to the defendant's mental health, but there is no specific information available about which psychiatrist was questioned.
It was revealed during the trial that the defendant often suffered from depression. Her ex-husband corroborated this, stating that there were frequent arguments, sometimes physical, between them.
The woman's ex-husband was attacked with a kitchen knife. Fortunately, he was able to escape unharmed. The Ravensburg Regional Court found the woman guilty of attempted manslaughter and sentenced her to two years in prison, which was suspended on probation.
Both parties stated that a divorce was too expensive, and they continued to live together despite their disagreements. The mental health of the defendant was a focus during the trial, and it remains to be seen how this will impact her future.
