Actor Alan Ritchson, renowned for his role in 'Reacher', dismisses speculations about his potential casting as Batman, yet expresses interest in future projects within James Gunn's DC Universe.

In an exclusive interview with Variety, Alan Ritchson discussed his interest in joining the DC Universe. The actor, known for his roles in DC series Titans and Smallville, has been linked to a potential role, but the specifics remain undisclosed.

Despite the buzz surrounding a possible Batman role, Ritchson himself did not confirm or deny the speculation. The new Batman is expected to debut in The Brave and the Bold, a father-son story about Batman and Robin, directed by Andy Muscietti. However, Ritchson's involvement in this project, or any other DC film featuring the Caped Crusader, was not discussed during the interview.

James Gunn, DC head and director of the upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson, has expressed his interest in Ritchson for a role in his DC Universe. Gunn, who also has a full slate of DC films including a sequel to The Batman scheduled for release on Oct. 3, is a fan of Ritchson as an actor and as a person.

Ritchson, who lost a role in the Marvel series Thor due to a lack of seriousness during the audition, has an extensive background in playing superheroes. He has portrayed Hank Hall in the DC series Titans and Aquaman in Smallville. The actor believes there is a role for him in the DC universe and has expressed his desire to keep a role in the DC universe.

Recently, Gunn teased a possibility for Ritchson to join the DC universe, but the nature of the role remains a mystery. Ritchson, however, does not believe Batman is in his future with DC. The interview did not reveal any specific DC role for Ritchson, leaving fans eagerly awaiting announcements about the actor's potential DC Universe debut.

Gunn's DC Universe will produce two Batman movies, one being Pattinson's and the other yet to be established. With Ritchson's extensive experience in playing superheroes and Gunn's interest in the actor, fans are hopeful for an exciting announcement in the near future. Ritchson, for his part, has expressed his interest in working with Gunn, further fueling the speculation about his potential role in the DC Universe.
