Actress Priya Marathe, prominently known for her role in "Pavitra Rishta," succumbs to cancer at the age of 38.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the television industry was hit with the tragic news of the passing of actress Priya Marathe. She was 38 years old.
Marathe, who had been bravely fighting cancer for over two years, was a familiar face in many households. She began her acting career with the Marathi television series Ya Sukhano Ya, before making her debut in Hindi television with Kasamh Se. Her breakout role came in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya as Bhavani Rathod, and she also appeared in shows like Tu Tithe Me, Uttaran, Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap, Savdhaan India, and Aata Hou De Dhingana.
Marathe's work in the industry did not go unnoticed, as she also made appearances in Comedy Circus and the historical series Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, where she worked alongside her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe. The couple married in April 2012 and Marathe became a familiar face as Archana's (Ankita Lokhande) sister in the popular series Pavitra Rishta.
Marathe was survived by her husband, and the couple had worked together in several other projects.
