AMV BBDO Appoints Chris Kay as New CEO, Marking a Shift in London Ad Community
Advertising agency AMV BBDO has appointed the former CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi London as their new leader.
In a significant move, AMV BBDO, one of the leading advertising agencies under the Publicis Groupe umbrella, has announced the appointment of Chris Kay as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Kay, who is currently the chief and partner at 72andSunny Asia Pacific, will be relocating from Asia Pacific to London to take on his new role.
This change comes as a result of AMV BBDO seeking a replacement for its previous CEO, Sarah Douglas, who stepped down after two years in the role. Sam Hawkey, the predecessor of Kay, will be moving on from AMV BBDO, although the exact departure date is yet to be agreed upon by Publicis Groupe.
Hawkey's departure follows the vacancy that arose at AMV BBDO's CEO position, a vacancy that the agency has been actively seeking to fill. The appointment of Kay marks the end of the internal search within Publicis Groupe.
Saatchi & Saatchi London, another subsidiary of Publicis Groupe, will also see a change in leadership. Hawkey, who is currently the CEO of AMV BBDO, will be replacing Chris Kay in this role. Kay will be relocating to London from November 1 to assume his new position.
The London ad community is expected to undergo a shift in leadership with these appointments. The moves come at an interesting time, as the advertising industry continues to evolve and adapt to the challenges presented by the digital age.
Clients of both AMV BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi London have been informed about these job changes, ensuring a smooth transition for all parties involved. As the new CEO of AMV BBDO, Kay is poised to lead the agency into a new era, bringing with him the experience and expertise he has cultivated during his tenure at 72andSunny Asia Pacific.
