Advocacy for Transport Accessibility for Senior Citizens

The University City of Marburg is taking strides to promote community engagement and health among its senior citizens. As part of the "Communal Movement Promotion for the Implementation of the National Recommendations" (KOMBINE) project, a new senior-focused open movement offer is being introduced.

Starting from August 27, elderly individuals seeking low-impact, non-pressured activities to benefit their health can participate in the senior open movement offer. This city-organized event will take place in the City Forest district center and will continue every fourth Wednesday of the month, from 4:30 PM to 6 PM.

The senior open movement offer is designed to cater to the unique needs of seniors, with exercises for mobilization, strengthening, and balance tailored to each participant's abilities and knowledge. The event is free of charge and is part of Marburg's comprehensive concept for movement and health promotion.

For those interested, the senior open movement offer is connected to the Senior Café, located at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 16. This cosy gathering place offers a welcoming environment for seniors to socialise and engage in various activities.

Subscribing to the University City of Marburg's newsletter provides users with all important information directly to their email inbox, including updates from the town hall and city life. By staying informed, residents can ensure they don't miss out on any exciting new initiatives like the senior open movement offer.

Organised by Gemeindeschwester plus Heidi Gangkofner, the senior open movement offer's first event is scheduled for September 26 at Adenauerpark. Given her involvement in similar initiatives, Heidi Gangkofner may be the responsible contact for such events around that time.

As Marburg continues to expand its open movement offers, the senior open movement offer is a testament to the city's commitment to promoting health and well-being among all its residents, particularly the elderly. So, mark your calendars and join us for the senior open movement offer starting August 27!
