In a recent update, smart home brand Shelly has introduced Energy Net Metering for its Shelly EM Gen3 and Shelly Pro 3EM devices. This new feature is accessible via the user settings in the Shelly app, available on iOS, Android, and via the web.

The update, developed in the smartphone app version 3.69.0, comes with new features such as expanded options for energy net metering and experimental device setting backups. This latest development emphasizes Shelly's focus on energy efficiency.

Energy Net Metering allows users to track surplus energy generated by their devices, providing a clearer picture of their household energy balance. This feature is similar to the Insights feature introduced by IKEA in its Home Smart app last year.

In addition to Energy Net Metering, the update also includes an innovative one-off timer. This feature allows users to set any device to switch on or off automatically after a specified time. The existing 'delay' feature has been expanded to work with more action types like scenes and alarms.

Shelly, a Bulgarian smart home brand, is renowned for producing reliable, affordable devices, including some of the best smart bulbs and smart thermostats on the market. With this latest update, Shelly continues to demonstrate its commitment to energy efficiency and smart home innovation.

IKEA, too, is known for adding affordable smart gadgets to its lineup. The introduction of Energy Net Metering and the Insights feature are testament to the growing importance of energy efficiency and smart home technology in our daily lives.

With these new features, Shelly users can now manage their energy consumption more effectively, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. The update is a significant step forward in the smart home industry, demonstrating the potential for technology to help us live more efficiently and sustainably.
