In the heart of Bavaria, the annual Lindau Wiesn Schützenkönig competition took place on September 7, 2025, during the Lindau Oktoberfest. This year's event marked a return to normalcy after the cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The competition, led by Fabian Boerner, gathered a total of 29 participants, including familiar faces and new contenders. The event saw the participation of Karl-Heinz Strube from Lindau/Aschach in the years 2016 and 2018, and Jochen Dreher from Lindau in 2017 and 2023. Notably, Daniel Goetze from Zurich, formerly Wasserburg, has been a consistent participant since 2013, with appearances in 2014, 2015, 2019, and in this year's competition.

The competition was a thrilling affair, with Deni Lazic from Lindau emerging as the winner with an impressive score of 48 rings. Jonas Rief secured the second place with 47 rings, while Elias Mura and Melanie Flax tied for third place. However, Mura clinched the third spot due to a higher score in the deciding series.

Melanie Flax, affectionately known as the "eternal shooting queen of the hearts," narrowly missed the podium. Despite this, she received a bottle of sparkling wine for her fourth-place finish.

The winner, Deni Lazic, was crowned the new shooting king and announced his intention to defend the title in the coming year. As a gesture of recognition, Lazic was awarded tickets for the honorary table at the "Evening of the Enterprises" during the Oktoberfest.

Looking forward, Daniel Goetze from Zurich, formerly Wasserburg, is expected to participate in the competition again in 2026, and Deni Lazic is scheduled to defend his title in 2025. Additionally, Daniel Willhalm from Lindau Streitelsfingen made his debut in the competition in 2022.

The participants collectively bought 153 targets and fired 765 shots, making for an exciting and competitive event. The Lindau Wiesn Schützenkönig competition continues to be a cherished tradition in the region, bringing together community, camaraderie, and a shared love for the sport of shooting.
