Agricultural Research Institute collaboration with IARI to conduct training for innovative farming technology companies on avant-garde food processing methods, commencing from the 8th of September.
The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is set to host a training program titled "Recent Avenues in Food Processing for Agritech Startups" from September 8 to 13, 2025, at its Pusa campus in New Delhi.
The training program, led by the ZTM & BPD Unit and the Division of FS & PHT, aims to strengthen the capabilities of agripreneurs and aspiring food industry innovators. Registration for the program opened on August 7, 2025, and will close on September 5, 2025.
Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Principal Scientist & Head of the Division FS & PHT at ICAR-IARI, serves as the Course Director for the training program. Dr. Bindvi Arora, Scientist (SS) at the Division FS & PHT, and Dr. Sellam Perinban, Scientist (SS) at the same division, are Co-Directors for the program. Dr. Akriti Sharma, Scientist (SS) at the ZTM-BPD Unit, is the Coordinator.
The program focuses on skill development and market-ready innovations in food processing. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, licensing processes, and certification procedures crucial for running successful food processing enterprises.
The program emphasizes Good Manufacturing and Handling Practices (GMHP), compliance with FSSAI regulations, and achieving high standards of quality assurance. Participants will receive practical knowledge of advanced food processing technologies and hands-on training in processing techniques.
One of the key highlights of the program is the exploration of the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the food sector and its potential to streamline production, improve efficiency, and drive product innovation.
Accommodation will be available at IARI on request, subject to availability. The training program fee is Rs 3,500 per candidate (excluding boarding and lodging). The program accommodates 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
