In a move aimed at streamlining used car appraisals and inventory sourcing, UVeye and vAuto have announced their integration. This partnership is set to provide dealers with more efficient and accurate appraisals, allowing them to quickly and accurately make trade-in offers for used vehicles and source more inventory from the service lane.

The integration of UVeye's AI-powered inspection capabilities into vAuto's appraisal data is a significant step forward. UVeye's technology, which was first encountered by the Brickell dealership at the NADA Show two years ago, quickly detects any damage on a vehicle and generates a condition report, including repair costs, in less than a minute.

Derek Hansen, vice president of operations at vAuto, expressed his excitement for dealers who have the necessary scale and size to use the integrated system, stating that it puts their appraisal process "on steroids." He further emphasised the natural synergy and partnership between UVeye's and vAuto's offerings to dealers.

One of the primary challenges Cox encounters is that dealers often put a blanket estimate for reconditioning on used vehicles, which can put them at a disadvantage in a competitive marketplace. UVeye's technology continues to address this issue, ensuring dealers can provide more accurate appraisals and maintain profitability, especially for high-volume dealerships like Brickell CDJR.

The Brickell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in downtown Miami has incorporated UVeye's scanning tunnel into its design, speeding up the appraisal and merchandising process for its high volume of pre-owned vehicles. The integration aims to put the right value on every car, image, and merchandise it across channels, helping dealers acquire inventory to fuel their retail operations.

However, not all dealerships have the capital and/or physical capacity to install UVeye's drive-through tunnel. Cox Auto is considering how it can assist dealers who lack the scale to use the system, ensuring that all dealers can benefit from the integration.

Thompson Automotive has been selected as one of the pilot dealerships for the integration of UVeye and vAuto. More than 400 dealerships currently use UVeye's system, with a goal of reaching more than 1,000 by the end of the year. The integration is underway, with a gradual rollout to the entire network in the next several months.

UVeye's technology also creates high-resolution merchandising images that dealerships can post on their websites, further enhancing their online presence and attracting potential customers. This integration is set to revolutionise the used car market, providing dealers with a more efficient, accurate, and profitable way of appraising and merchandising their inventory.
