Aid considerations encompass the funding for a novel terminal's construction as well.
The flood situation in Bavaria is worsening, with water spreading from Lower Allgäu to Swabia and Upper Bavaria. In response, the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) has mobilized its forces to tackle the crisis.
Approximately 1300 THW personnel are currently deployed across Bavaria, working tirelessly since Friday. Specialist groups for water damage and pumps are on standby for further flood operations, ready to tackle the large volumes of water and combat the flooding.
Special units of the THW specialist groups for clearing have arrived on site, equipped with excavators, wheel loaders, and Unimogs. These resources will be crucial in the coming days as high-capacity pumps will be provided by THW specialist groups to successfully pump out large quantities of water and combat the floods.
The THW's efforts are not limited to Bavaria. The agency is also called upon for emergencies both domestically and internationally, including bilateral aid, the EU's civil protection mechanism, and UN organizations.
In Ingolstadt, a deployment area has been set up for the district of Pfaffenhofen, with a focus on sandbag logistics due to the rising water level of the Paar. Around 400 THW personnel are currently deployed in the Ingolstadt area alone. THW personnel from Northern Bavaria are assisting in Southern Bavaria, and a deployment area has been set up by the THW in the district of Augsburg, Swabia.
In total, THW personnel from 60 local associations in Bavaria are involved in the relief efforts. The THW logistics center in Obernburg delivered 1300 field beds to the deployment area in Swabia tonight, with THW personnel transporting these beds during the night hours.

The THW Bavaria has approximately 88,000 volunteers nationwide, forming the basis for its work in civil protection. The THW continues to work around the clock to alleviate the flood situation in Bavaria and ensure the safety of its residents.
