Aircraft Nearly Scrapes Runway at FMO Airport in Greven (Boeing 737)

On Wednesday, 4th September 2025, a Boeing 737 coming from Turkey almost rolled off the end of the runway at Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO), Germany. The incident, which occurred at 6:20 AM, did not result in a fire on board, and fortunately, no passengers or crew members were injured.

The aircraft, operated by Turkish airline Mavi Gök, was carrying 190 passengers and 6 crew members. After landing, the Boeing 737 could not brake in time, causing it to touch down too late, according to the airport fire department spokesperson. As a result, the runway damage included several signal lights requiring repair.

The incident at Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) temporarily closed the airport, causing four subsequent flights to be diverted to Hannover or Cologne. The runway damage has since been repaired, and flight operations resumed at 2:40 AM on Thursday.

The precise cause of the hard landing has not been publicly disclosed in detail. However, sources for this information include Airport FMO and the news agency dpa. As of now, Mavi Gök has not made a public statement regarding the incident.

It is important to note that this incident is not related to any advertisements and is also separate from events at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport, Corfu, and Airport Weeze.

Passengers left the aircraft via passenger stairs on the runway and were taken to the terminals by bus. The video of the incident is available until 4th September 2027.
