A spate of traffic incidents and a break-in have occurred in the region over the weekend. Alcohol played a significant role in several of these incidents, leading to injuries and property damage.

On Friday afternoon, a rear-end collision in Weyhe-Dreye involving two motorcyclists resulted in slight injuries to both. Later that evening, a 66-year-old driver from Asendorf collided with a 35-year-old motorcyclist while turning onto Brands Weg, due to excessive speed and alcohol consumption. The driver was uninjured, but the motorcyclist's condition is unknown.

In Twistringen, an unknown perpetrator broke into a single-family house in the early hours of Friday morning. The residents were woken by the noise, but the intruder left without taking any property.

Friday also saw a traffic stop in Weyhe-Melchiorshausen, where a truck driver from Rotenburg was found to be over the limit, with a breath test value of 1.67 per mille. Their vehicle was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.

Another traffic accident occurred in Barnstorf later that evening, caused by drunk driving. A motorcyclist was seriously injured, and both vehicles were damaged, with an estimated total damage of around 2,000 euros.

The Diepholz police station is investigating these incidents, but the specific officers responsible are yet to be identified. The region has seen a rise in alcohol-related incidents, highlighting the importance of responsible driving.
