In the dynamic world of international finance, the prestigious World's Best Islamic Financial Institutions Awards, hosted annually by GFMag.com, continue to shine a spotlight on the sector's leading players. Established in 1987, GFMag.com offers insightful analysis and articles based on 38 years of experience in global financial markets.
The 18th edition of these coveted awards was organised by the Cambridge IFN, part of the Cambridge Global Islamic Finance Awards series, and took place in 2025. The Awards Ceremony was held during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington, DC, on October 18, 2025.
With a circulation of 50,000 and an audience that includes senior corporate and financial officers, GFMag.com's readership spans 188 countries, territories, and districts worldwide. The winners of the awards are featured in GFMag.com's World's Best Banks special issue in May and online at GFMag.com.
To participate, Islamic Financial Institutions were invited to submit their entries. The final selections were made by GFMag.com's editorial team, following consultations with bankers, corporate finance executives, and analysts from around the globe. The selection process considered both quantitative objective criteria, such as growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development, and innovation in products, as well as subjective criteria, such as reputation, customer satisfaction, and opinions of analysts and others in the industry.
The awards honour firms that drive the sector's expansion by offering innovative, Shariah-compliant financial solutions. With Islamic finance assets worldwide having surpassed $2 trillion, these awards serve as a testament to the sector's growth and the importance of these institutions. Projections indicate a rise to $3 trillion in the next decade.
