Anticipated Arrival of a Colour E Ink Tablet Boasting More Functionality Than Kindle Colorsoft

The tech world is abuzz with excitement as reMarkable, a company known for its digital paper tablets, is expected to unveil a new device tomorrow, the ReMarkable Paper Pro Move. This portable color E Ink model could potentially be a competitor to the Kindle Colorsoft, with a focus on writing and a tablet-like experience, as per the brand's main selling point.

Leaked images, which briefly appeared on Reddit before being taken down, hint at the validity of the information. The images suggest the ReMarkable Paper Pro Move could be smaller than the Remarkable Paper Pro and feature a color E Ink screen with backlight, a significant upgrade.

The leaked pricing for the US launch is $449.99 or $499, depending on the folio case. Each unit comes with a USB-C charger, a Marker Plus stylus, and replacement tips. Fast charging is another leaked addition, getting the device to 90% in just 45 minutes.

Aside from leaks, patent applications also hint at more specifications for the device. The applications suggest WiFi 6, Bluetooth, and NFC wireless battery charging features. The ReMarkable Paper Pro Move is expected to have a battery life of around two weeks due to the low power consumption of the E Ink screen.

The company's official tease last week, where a YouTube video discussing "something on the move" was released, revealed a date of 3 September and a time of 8AM ET (1pm BST). The device is rumored to be a new color E Ink tablet, and official details about the Remarkable Paper Pro Move are expected to be announced on Wednesday, 3 September.

The ReMarkable Paper Pro Move is compared to the iPad Mini rather than the iPad Pro, indicating a more compact and writing-focused device. The device is expected to be more tablet-like with a stylus, offering a unique blend of digital and paper-like writing experience.

Stay tuned for more updates as we await the official announcement on Wednesday. The ReMarkable Paper Pro Move could potentially shake up the digital writing device market, offering a unique blend of portability, color display, and long battery life.
