Anticipated Cloudy Weather, Occasional Rainfall, and Humid Nights Forecasted for UAE This Week

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently experiencing a spell of humid and partly cloudy weather, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Over the next few days, the country can expect a mix of high temperatures and intermittent rain, as well as fog in certain areas.

Daily highs are projected to range between 38°C and 46°C across major cities. However, on Monday, light showers and a slight dip in temperatures are expected, along with fog or mist at dawn in parts of the north and inland areas. The NCM forecasts similar conditions on Wednesday: partly cloudy skies with localized convective clouds in the east may bring showers after midday.

By Tuesday, meteorologists warn of possible convective cloud formation over eastern areas by afternoon. Wind speeds may reach 40 km/h at times on Tuesday, though seas are expected to remain slight. On Monday, winds will vary between southwesterly, northwesterly and northeasterly, blowing at 10-25 km/h, with gusts up to 35 km/h.

On Sunday, skies in the UAE are expected to be partly to mostly cloudy, with humidity increasing overnight and into Monday morning, particularly along coastal regions. Humidity will peak at 85 per cent in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah.

On Thursday, July 1, 2021, localized thunderstorm clouds and rainfall potentially occurring after noon are expected to affect the coastal and eastern regions, as well as the southern parts of the United Arab Emirates. Fog or mist could occur overnight in western regions by Tuesday, and humidity will persist overnight, with fog or light fog forming in western areas.

The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to remain relatively calm with slight wave activity. The lowest temperature recorded on Saturday morning was 24.9°C on Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the weather conditions and take necessary precautions, especially during the hotter hours of the day and in areas where fog may be present.
