Anticipated Increase in Attendees for IAA Mobility 2025 Compared to 2023 Event Organizers' Predictions

The International Automobile Exhibition (IAA Mobility), a showcase for the future of transportation, is set to open its doors in Munich on September 8, 2024. The event will run from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 18:00 at the exhibition grounds in northern Munich, and from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 and 21:00 in the city centre.

Over 700 exhibitors, including around 30 actual car manufacturers, are expected to participate. Among the participants, several Chinese companies will make their debut, seeking to gain attention amidst challenges such as overproduction, price wars, and low margins on the home market. Notably absent is Tesla, while the Hyundai group, including the Kia brand, is back.

A significant aspect of this year's IAA Mobility is the focus on sustainable mobility. Only vehicles with hybrid or battery-electric drive will be available for test drives at the exhibition. This shift towards eco-friendly transportation is a response to growing concerns about car traffic and the promotion of sustainable mobility.

However, the IAA Mobility 2024 is not without controversy. The association "Letzte Generation" (Last Generation) has planned protest actions, including street blockades, during the event. Various environmental and citizen groups have also expressed critical views and organised protests to highlight their concerns. These protests aim to draw attention to the need for a shift towards sustainable mobility and away from car traffic.

In addition to Google, a new exhibitor at the event, visitors can look forward to exploring the latest developments in the automotive industry from September 9 to 14, 2024. The IAA Mobility promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking event, as it navigates the intersection of technological innovation and environmental responsibility.
