Anticipated World Cup qualifying outcomes, gambling forecasts, and guidance: Sweden may commence rapidly

After missing out on the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024, Sweden is looking to make a strong comeback in the qualifying stages for the 2026 World Cup. The Scandinavian nation, currently priced at 125-1 to win the tournament, has a talented squad led by the likes of Victor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, and Anthony Elanga. These three strikers were reportedly transferred for a combined £244 million, a testament to their potential.

However, the team's manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, is yet to be confirmed as a potential dark horse for the World Cup. Dejan Kulusevski, a notable attacker for Tottenham, is unfortunately injured and will not be part of the squad.

Sweden's group for the qualifying stages includes Switzerland and Kosovo, promising challenging encounters. Despite the setbacks, Sweden has shown promising form, winning eight of their last ten matches.

Meanwhile, Iceland, who registered a shock 3-1 friendly victory away to Scotland, is also gearing up for the qualifying stages. The team can make a winning start by defeating Azerbaijan in Reykjavik. Azerbaijan, who have gone ten matches without winning, will provide a good opportunity for Iceland to kickstart their campaign.

Iceland can draw confidence from their recent home performances, having taken seven points from their last three games in Euro 2024 qualifying. Slovenia, who have struggled since their round of 16 exit at Euro 2024, will also be in action. Slovenia were not fully convincing in summer friendlies despite posting victories away to Luxembourg (1-0) and at home to Bosnia (2-1).

Slovenia amassed six of their eight points in Nations League Group B3 with wins over Kazakhstan. Despite these victories, the team will face a tough challenge in the World Cup qualifiers.

As both Sweden and Iceland prepare for the World Cup qualifiers, they will be aiming to put their recent performances behind them and focus on the task at hand. The qualifying stages promise to be an exciting time for both teams and their fans.
