Anticipating his Ferrari race debut at Monza, Lewis Hamilton expresses excitement.
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One World Champion, is eagerly anticipating the home race for Ferrari at Monza. The British racer has previously expressed his admiration for the Ferrari fanbase, known as the tifosi, and is expecting a unique experience at the Italian Grand Prix.
Having competed at Monza before, Hamilton appreciates the passion and support that the Ferrari fans bring to the track. He has also voiced his awe at the crowd at Imola, another iconic Italian circuit, demonstrating his fondness for racing in Italy.
However, Hamilton's preparations for the race have been somewhat disrupted. He received a five-place grid penalty for exceeding track limits under double yellow flags before the Grand Prix itself. This incident, while not explicitly stated, may have similarities with Lando Norris' crash at the Zandvoort GP, where Norris may have also exceeded track limits under double yellow flags. Max Verstappen, too, experienced a similar incident at the Sepang Grand Prix.
In a twist of events, the new driver for FP1 (First Practice Session) in Monza has not been confirmed as Hamilton. Instead, Alpine has announced that Paul Aron will replace Franco Colapinto for that session. The identity of the new driver for Ferrari in FP1 remains undisclosed.
Despite the penalty and the uncertainty surrounding FP1, Hamilton remains optimistic. He feels he has made significant progress during the previous race weekend and is looking forward to building on that at Monza. The British racer will undoubtedly be aiming to add another victory to his impressive list of accomplishments in the sport.
