Anticipation build-up for the largest Gamescom event ever seen by attendees.
Gamescom 2025, the world's largest video game trade fair, is set to take place in Cologne, starting on Thursday. Over 1500 exhibitors from 72 countries will participate, showcasing the latest in gaming technology, games, and merchandise.
The event, spanning across 233,000 square meters of exhibition space, will feature a plethora of gaming delights. One of the most anticipated presentations is the unveiling of "007 - First Light", a new James Bond game, by IO Interactive. The company will present this highly-anticipated game with a dedicated booth and related vehicle displays.
The opening night, hosted by Canadian video game journalist Geoff Keighley in Hall 1, was a grand affair. The sold-out Opening Night Live event, streamed live via YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms, saw the presentation of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 7", among other games. Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition and Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight were also unveiled during the event.
The Indie Arena Booth in Hall 10.2 will host over 200 indie game providers from more than 40 countries. Gamers will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of innovative and unique indie games.
For fans of retro gaming, the Retro Area, spanning over 2000 square meters in Hall 10.2 (Upper Floor), will offer a trip down memory lane. Playable consoles, arcade machines, handhelds, and home computers from the past 60 years will be available for all to enjoy.
EA Sports will present its football simulation, FC 26, and "Anno 117: Pax Romana", a new installment in the Anno series, is set to release in November 2025.
The Cosplay Village, complete with a Cosplay Contest and Social Stage, will add a touch of creativity and excitement to the event.
Gamescom 2025 will extend its opening hours on Thursday and Friday (10:00-20:00) and on Saturday and Sunday (09:00-20:00) to accommodate the influx of gaming enthusiasts. However, due to Saturday's sellout, the event may be crowded on other days. A day ticket for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday costs €30.50, but Saturday is already sold out.
Notably, Sony is not participating in Gamescom 2025, choosing to not exhibit in Cologne.
With a diverse range of games, exhibitors, and events, Gamescom 2025 promises to be an unforgettable gaming experience for all attendees. Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of gaming and create unforgettable memories!
