A fire broke out at a top-floor apartment on Johannisplatz in Leipzig on Monday evening, leaving two individuals injured.

The incident occurred around 8 pm, with thick smoke pouring out of a window due to the fire. The smoke was visible from the street, alerting neighbours and prompting the fire department to respond to the incident.

According to reports, both a 30-year-old tenant and a 29-year-old, who was present during the fire, attempted to extinguish the fire before the fire department arrived. However, both individuals suffered from smoke inhalation and were injured as a result.

The police confirmed the information about the individuals' injuries upon request. The current condition of the two individuals is not known at this time.
