Apartment in Kaufbeuren experiences flooding instead of providing cooking enjoyment

In the heart of Kaufbeuren city center, a surprising incident unfolded on Sunday, September 7, as the local fire department was called to a residential building. The exact fire department company that responded to the emergency call isn't explicitly mentioned in the available sources, but the incident was reported as a fire department operation.

The source of the water leak was traced back to a corner valve of the water supply in the apartment. The flooding was a result of an accident during kitchen renovation. A hanging cabinet slipped, knocking off the corner valve, causing a water jet to flood the apartment.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The tenant was quick to act and managed to stop the water flow, preventing further damage. By the time the firefighters arrived, the water in the kitchen stood four centimeters high.

Upon arrival, five firefighters from the Kaufbeuren fire department sprang into action. They removed the remnants of the old corner valve and used a wet vacuum to clean up the flooding. To ensure the renovation could continue without delay, the firefighters installed a new corner valve, which had been purchased for the kitchen renovation.

The new tenant of the affected apartment was undoubtedly relieved by the swift and efficient response from the Kaufbeuren fire department. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions during home renovations.
