Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Female Leader in Sustainable Energy Award within Serbia.
The 2025 Female Leader in Sustainable Energy Award is now open for applications, offering a unique opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange within the WISE initiative and beyond. This recognition aims to honour women who have made significant contributions to the sustainable development of Serbia's energy sector and related fields.
The application period runs from August 25 to September 10, 2025. Women working in energy, climate action, or environmental protection, regardless of their citizenship, are encouraged to apply. The award is open to various profiles, including decision-makers, business employees, academics, civic energy workers, NGO representatives, international organization members, consulting teams, legal and financial institutions, IT experts, and media representatives.
Applications should be sent via email to [email protected] and must include a nomination letter, professional resume, a short nomination statement (up to 100 words), a high-resolution photo portrait, and contact information. The nomination statement will be presented on the WISE Serbia website and social media platforms.
Last year's award recipient was Svetlana Cerović, Director of Specialized Financing at UniCredit Bank Serbia. Other recipients included Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia; Maja Turković, Executive Vice President at CWP Global; and Ana Džokić, co-founder of the energy cooperative Elektropionir.
Established in 2023 by the Center for the Promotion of Sustainable Development, the Female Leader in Sustainable Energy Award is under the auspices of the German development cooperation GIZ. The WISE Serbia network, under which the award is given, was established in 2018 and is among the first of its kind globally.
Interested candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by employers, colleagues, or teams. Last year's winner, Svetlana Cerović, has invited all interested women to take part in this year's award process.
