Meerbusch's Gardens of the Year 2025: Lange and Kujawa Families Triumph
The small town of Meerbusch in Germany witnessed a vibrant display of horticultural prowess last year, as the Lange and Kujawa families emerged victorious in the "Meerbusch's Gardens of the Year 2025" competition. The families' garden, redesigned as a cheerful community project, was a resplendent haven for bees, butterflies, and insects, perfectly embodying the competition's ethos of natural and colorful gardens.
The competition, which is still accepting applications until mid-September (September 15, 2025), is sponsored by the landscape and garden construction company Terra Viridis, and the tree and rose nurseries Schubert. Participants can look forward to receiving modern specialist literature with practical tips and plant recommendations for natural garden design, should they be selected.
Last year's participants, including the Lange and Kujawa families, are welcome to apply again. The application process requires submitting two to three expressive photos of the front garden and a short text describing it. The applications will be evaluated by a jury led by Green Spaces Department Head Anna Hardenberg.
The Lange and Kujawa families' garden was one of the gardens evaluated by Hardenberg's jury. Their garden, which was not sponsored by Terra Viridis, Schubert, or any of the garden centers Bogie, Selders, Jentjens, and Wantikow, was presented with a certificate by Mayor Christian Bommers during a small ceremony at the town hall. Despite not receiving shopping vouchers, the families did win a garden maintenance service worth 250 euros each.
The winning garden was realized as a community project with the participation of the families' children. Mayor Bommers, who presented the certificate, encouraged more Meerbusch hobby gardeners to participate in the competition. However, the search results do not contain any information about the owners of the six most beautiful front gardens in 2025 of the "Meerbusch's Gardens of the Year".
The competition is for natural and colorful gardens that provide habitat for bees, butterflies, and insects. It is a testament to Meerbusch's commitment to environmental sustainability and community spirit. So, if you're a green-thumbed resident of Meerbusch, don't miss out on this opportunity to showcase your garden and contribute to the town's vibrant garden culture. Apply now for the "Meerbusch's Gardens of the Year 2025" competition before September 15, 2025!
