Ravensburg Razorbacks Secure South German Championship Title with Impressive Win

The Ravensburg Razorbacks took a significant step towards securing the South German Championship title with an impressive 43-26 victory over the Allgäu Comets last weekend. Walter Kuhlenkamp, the quarterback for the Saarland Hurricanes, was a key figure in the game, as a win against them in their last regular season game on Saturday would secure the title for the Oberschwaben.

The Razorbacks got off to a strong start, with Broghean McGovern finding wide receiver Dr. Geoffrey Greene in the end zone for a 7-0 lead. However, the guests' offense struggled initially, with a pass from McGovern being deflected at the line on their first possession.

The Comets responded with a touchdown, taking the lead (14-13), but the Razorbacks fought back. Alex Mashak ran 70 yards for a touchdown, and two passes from McGovern to Tim Müller gave Ravensburg their first lead (19-14).

The Razorbacks' defense was instrumental in shifting the momentum in their favour, securing four balls from quarterback Conor Regan. Defensive back Richard Scheel was particularly impressive, securing the ball after a deflected pass.

The Razorbacks had to contend with a strong Comets backfield defense, but they managed to score again when Lennies McFerren found the end zone, putting them back in front (22-19).

The Comets intercepted a pass during the game, but the Razorbacks responded with a touchdown by Anthony Harris Jr., extending their lead to 36-26. Ben Rashid intercepted a pass, allowing McGovern to run in another touchdown (43-26).

Razorbacks head coach John Gilligan was pleased with the win, despite admitting that the team didn't play their best. "We need to stay focused, do our job, and bring home the trophy," said offensive coordinator Jake Suggett.

With the win, the ifm Razorbacks Ravensburg are now only mathematically behind the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns for the South German championship title. The Razorbacks will face the Saarland Hurricanes in their final regular season game on Saturday, with a win securing the title.
