Arms Reduction or Demilitarization
Funding is available for projects that aim to strengthen space security and contribute to the disarmament and strengthening of structural capacities of international organizations. However, it's important to note that applications from individuals are not accepted.
The funding can be utilised for measures related to cybersecurity, nuclear, conventional, chemical/bio, and export control projects. The application process varies depending on the type of project, with specific contact information provided for each.
Applicants are required to submit their complete applications at least 12 weeks before the start of the measures. Project proposals should pursue gender-sensitive approaches.
In general, own or third-party funds must be contributed for funding. Cost-based applications are excluded from consideration.
While no guidelines are provided for the use of funds, there are specified durations for certain funding programmes. For example, the EZ-Kleinprojektefonds funding has a maximum project duration of 12 months (with over-year possibilities). The DAS funding guideline for municipal climate protection is valid from December 2024 until December 31, 2026. A hydrogen-related funding program by the Federal Ministry of Transport is valid until December 31, 2026, with the overall program term until 2028. The "Climate-Adapted Forest Management" funding program started in November 2022 and provides long-term funding commitments of 10 to 20 years. The KfW "Jung kauft Alt" funding offers current conditions since 2024 but does not specify a fixed end date.
It's worth noting that maximum funding duration is for the current fiscal year and three subsequent years. Full funding is only possible in very well-founded exceptional cases.
Expanding dialogue on future technologies can also be supported with these funds.
These funds can be used to finance projects that aim to enhance space security and contribute to the disarmament and strengthening of international organizations, as well as projects related to climate protection and other specified areas. With these opportunities, it's an exciting time for organisations and projects that align with these goals to apply and make a difference.
