Arrest Announced in Connection with Car Theft: Coordinated Statement by Heilbronn Prosecutors and Police Department Heads

On Friday, a 40-year-old Polish national appeared before the judge at the Heilbronn District Court, accused of stealing an Audi Q5 parked in Nußäckerstraße, Bad Rappenau-Bonfeld. The case is being handled by Kriminalinspektion 2 of the Heilbronn Criminal Police Directorate, led by Kriminalrätin Lisa Neidlein, who has held the position since October 1, 2023.

The theft is believed to have occurred through interception of the KeylessGo signal of the vehicle key. The suspect admitted to the theft during a police interrogation.

The arrest warrant for the suspect was executed by the Heilbronn District Court, following a request from the Heilbronn Public Prosecutor's Office for serious theft. The subsequent search of the Audi revealed Polish license plates registered to an identical vehicle.

The Bavarian police informed their colleagues in Heilbronn about the recovered vehicle. The Audi was stopped by a civilian patrol car from the Bayreuth Traffic Police Inspectorate at the Hof/Topen exit in Bavaria on February 27th, 2025. Upon checking the registered address, the vehicle owner was surprised to find his Audi missing.

The car keys were still at home, indicating the vehicle was stolen and not sold or transferred. On February 26th, the stolen vehicle was noticed on the A72 motorway heading east due to high speeds and erratic driving.

The suspect was taken to a detention facility after the court hearing, but their identity and current legal status remain undisclosed. The information about the suspect was transmitted by the Police Headquarters Heilbronn via news aktuell.
