Arrest made, followed by vehicle confiscation concludes pursuit
In an incident that unfolded in the heart of Dortmund on September 2nd, a 52-year-old man from Breckerfeld found himself in police custody following a high-speed chase.
The dramatic chase, which involved the Dortmund police, commenced around 4:30 PM near Brackeler Straße. The suspect, driving a silver BMW, reportedly attempted to flee from the authorities.
During the chase, the BMW allegedly damaged a parked vehicle and a police vehicle, causing a commotion in the bustling city. The pursuit ended on a factory site in Eberhardstraße, where the man abandoned the BMW and continued his escape on foot.
Civilian enforcement officers managed to apprehend the man on a nearby vacant lot. The BMW was seized as evidence and taken away for further investigation.
Upon his arrival at the police station North, the man underwent drug and urine tests, which reportedly came back positive. Despite the positive test results, the man was released after a blood sample was taken.
