Arrest made over alleged stolen property incident
In the quiet town of Menden, a daytime residential burglary took place on Tuesday, August 26th, according to the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters. The incident occurred on Burgstraße, and the suspects are now facing trial for the crime.
Neighbours across the street reported observing two young men. One was seen entering the house through an open window, while the other stood on the sidewalk. Witnesses later confronted the suspect on the sidewalk, causing the other to jump out of the window, holding a tablet.
The older suspect is a 24-year-old from Ruppichteroth with a history of various offenses. The younger suspect is a 26-year-old with no fixed address in Germany, who has only been convicted once. Both suspects fled on foot towards Taubenweg, and a witness managed to retrieve the tablet.
The police apprehended the suspects later in the day in Sankt Augustin. Today, August 27th, they will be presented to a judge for a decision on whether to issue a warrant.
