Arrest of a 56-year-old individual following physical attack on individuals identified as SEK residents
In an unusual incident that occurred on Tuesday, a 56-year-old man from Biberach an der Riß is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at special police forces. The incendiary device missed the police by a few meters and did not continue to burn.
According to reports, the man was armed with a knife at the time of the operation. A canister suspected to be filled with gasoline was found in his possession. The public prosecutor's office is involved in the case, as reported by police. A judge issued an arrest warrant for the man, suspecting him of attempted manslaughter and attempted arson.
The man was believed to be in a state of mental distress during the operation. He reportedly resisted during the operation and sustained minor injuries. Initially, he was taken to a clinic for his injuries.
The incident began when a carer from a care service alerted the police because the man wouldn't open the door. The carer suspected the man was in a helpless situation. A nursing assistant who called the police about the allegedly desperate man remains unnamed in the search results.
Upon storming the apartment, the special forces prevented the man from throwing any more incendiary devices. The man allegedly tried to grab more Molotov cocktails during the operation. More Molotov cocktails and fuel cans were found in the man's apartment.
Fortunately, no danger to the public was reported during the incident. The man's arrest marks the end of a tense standoff with the police. The investigation is ongoing, and more details may be released as they become available.
