Arshdeep unveils Siraj's guidance that aids him in passing leisurely moments during test cricket, and discusses his unrealized opportunity in England.

Arshdeep Singh, the leading wicket-taker for India in T20I cricket, is preparing for his last competitive game before India begins its Asia Cup campaign. Currently, he is playing for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy match against East Zone in Bengaluru.

During the England tour earlier this year, Arshdeep was a part of India's squad but did not receive his maiden Test cap. However, he stayed motivated, managing his workload effectively while training and adding more variations to his arsenal.

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Arshdeep revealed that it was Mohammed Siraj who motivated him to a better self-discovery in Test cricket. Siraj, a fellow teammate, advised him about enjoying "boring times" in red-ball cricket, stating that how one enjoys the less eventful phases can indicate success in that format.

Arshdeep's comments were also quoted by ANI, where he stated specifically that Siraj told him that one should learn to enjoy the process and the grind of red-ball cricket to be successful in that format.

Unfortunately, an injury on his hand before the fourth Test in Manchester further delayed Arshdeep's debut. But he remained undeterred, bowling thousands of balls in practice to stay ready for his opportunity.

Despite missing out on the first three Tests during India's tour of England earlier this year, Arshdeep is now set to return to the T20I format after his current Duleep Trophy match.

The Asia Cup tournament for cricket is scheduled to start on September 9 in Abu Dhabi. Arshdeep will be hoping to make his mark in the tournament and continue his impressive form in the shorter formats of the game.
