In the heart of Brunswick, Germany, the Hinter Aegidien Museum is currently hosting a thought-provoking exhibition titled "A Part of Us. German-Jewish Stories from Lower Saxony." This special exhibition, a part of the changing displays at the museum, showcases individual fates from the 18th to the 21st century, emphasising that minorities' identities do not have to be abandoned for active participation in a heterogeneous society.

The exhibition, housed in the preserved baroque interior of the former Hornburg Synagogue, which was transferred to the Brunswick State Museum in 1924, features numerous donations. These donations have created a unique collection that reflects both Jewish religious customs and German and Lower Saxon culture.

The museum's permanent exhibition, "A Part of Us," is presented by the Landesmuseum Hannover (State Museum of Lower Saxony) and offers insights into the rich history of the Jewish population in Germany, a small minority that has significantly contributed to the cultural and landscape region of Lower Saxony.

The Hinter Aegidien Museum, located at Hinter Aegidien 38100 Brunswick, is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm, with Monday closed. Admission prices for special exhibitions may vary, but for the permanent exhibitions, adults pay 4 €, reduced admission is 3 €, children from 6 years pay 2 €, and children up to 5 years enter for free. A Combined Day Ticket is available, valid for visiting the permanent exhibitions at the Museum Hinter Aegidien and St. Ulrici-Brothers on the same date.
