Artificial grass at sports facility "Am Eisenbrand" is being replaced with a new version
The city administration of Meerbusch has initiated a renovation project for the artificial turf field at the sports complex "Am Eisenbrand" in Büderich. The project, with a total budget of 600,000 euros, aims to replace the worn-out artificial turf pitch, which was first created in 2006 and has been subjected to intensive use.
The renovation work, being carried out by giftGRÜN GmbH, includes the removal of the current artificial turf layer. This will be followed by the laying of a new artificial turf on a 7,500 square meter elastic base layer. The new surface will be suitable for both football and hockey, making it a versatile facility for the local sports community.
For hockey, a water-filled pitch is required, and irrigation of the artificial turf is now standard on hockey pitches. This will ensure that the renovated pitch meets the necessary specifications for hockey games. Higher-level hockey games, selection games, or corresponding training measures can be held on the pitch in the future.
Both FC Büderich and the hockey department of Grün-Weiß-Rot will benefit from the renovated pitch. The existing artificial turf system is being dismantled and recycled, ensuring that the renovation process is environmentally friendly.
The renovated pitch will cover the elastic base layer, providing a durable and high-quality surface for the sports community. This investment in the sports facility is expected to greatly enhance the quality of sports activities in the area and provide a better playing experience for local athletes.
