Artificial Intelligence Aiding in Returning Individuals to Employment
===============================================================================
On September 23, 2020, the Center for Data Innovation is hosting a discussion on the possibilities of using artificial intelligence (AI) in application and employment processes. The event, which will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (ET) and from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM (CEST), aims to delve into the opportunities and challenges that AI presents in the realm of recruiting and hiring.
Eline Chivot, Senior Policy Analyst at the Center for Data Innovation, will moderate the discussion. The panelists include Andrea Glorioso, Principal Policy Officer Future of Work at DG Connect, European Commission; Ben Mones, Founder and CEO of Fama.io; Lindsey Zuloaga, Director of Data Science at HireVue; and Markellos Diorinos, Co-Founder and CEO of Bryq.
The panel will discuss the ways companies are using AI to find qualified people for hard-to-fill positions, increase diversity, and reduce bias in the hiring process. They will also explore policies that could support effective use of AI in recruiting and hiring. Some policymakers consider the use of AI in recruiting and hiring to be "high-risk" and want to limit it. The panel will address these concerns and cover ways companies are addressing concerns about discrimination and bias in AI recruiting and hiring.
AI can help accelerate the hiring process and identify job applicants who might otherwise have been overlooked. Companies are using AI to streamline their recruitment processes, making them more efficient and effective. However, it is crucial to ensure that the use of AI does not lead to unintended discrimination or bias in hiring decisions.
Participants are encouraged to join the discussion on Twitter using the hashtag #AIforWork. Questions for the panel can be submitted on Sli.do using the code #AIforWork. The event can be attended by registering for the video webinar. For more information, follow the Center for Data Innovation on Twitter at @DataInnovation.
