Get ready for a summer filled with reading, creativity, and fun at the Summer Vacation Reading Club! This exciting event, organised by the staff of the City Library, is taking place at the City Library on Weilerstraße.
The Summer Vacation Reading Club offers a varied program, appealing to children and teenagers alike. The first meeting is set for Tuesday, August 5th, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, and the theme for this inaugural event is "Bedazzling Books".
On August 12th, the theme is "Book Rally - Puzzle Fun with Records". Participants will solve clues, crack the solution word, and engage in some real problem-solving skills. The meeting will also involve exploring spectacular world records and a self-programmed digital puzzle game.
If you're not able to bring your own book, fear not! The library's flea market collection will be at your disposal.
On August 19th, club members will have the opportunity to design their own cover or movie poster for their favourite story.
The creativity continues on August 26th, with the theme being "Comic Book Creation". Here, participants will turn a favourite scene from a book into a mini-comic with panels, speech bubbles, and lots of imagination.
The fun doesn't stop there! On September 2nd, the Summer Vacation Reading Club will be at the "School of Magical Creatures", where everyone will create their own magical creature friend.
To wrap up the summer, on September 9th, the Summer Vacation Reading Club will give its summer journals the final touch with colourful pens, stickers, and glitter.

The Summer Vacation Reading Club is a part of the Bavarian State Library system, with participation depending on each individual library. The next opportunity to register and participate is during the Bavarian summer holidays 2025, specifically between July 25 and September 22, 2025; some libraries start sign-ups by July 1, 2025.
