At InfoComm 2024, Atlona Discusses 21:9 Content and Educational Initiatives

Garth Lobban, Director of Marketing at Atlona, has identified USB-C connectivity and the 21:9 aspect ratio as the most significant technology trends for InfoComm 2024. The annual conference, taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 8-14, is becoming increasingly end-user focused.

Atlona, a leading provider of AV and IT solutions, is preparing to showcase its innovative offerings at the event. One of the key highlights will be the Atlona AT-VKP-8E, an advanced, self-contained control system designed to eliminate the need for a separate control processor and panel-based system.

The AT-VKP-8E is capable of controlling up to 10 devices in a room, including switchers, source devices, displays, and audio via IP and RS-232. It features an e-paper display, eight buttons, RGB LED indicators, and a 16-LED strip for system audio level representation. The system is intuitive to operate and is designed to support the increasing variety of education applications, including esports.

Atlona will also demonstrate their support for USB-C signals alongside HDMI signals in the classroom, as well as remote inputs that better support collaboration. This move aligns with Lobban's view that USB-C connectivity will be a key trend at InfoComm 2024.

In addition to the AT-VKP-8E, Atlona will showcase its Omega Series of collaboration products, which are well-suited for the opportunities that the 21:9 presentation brings to learning and meeting spaces. The 21:9 aspect ratio, which allows for unique screen and presentation layouts, is anticipated to be a significant topic at the conference.

Microsoft Teams Front Row layout, for instance, supports 21:9 content in the top middle portion of the screen. Atlona's main focus at InfoComm 2024 is serving the education vertical, with a priority on higher ed and K-12 customers.

Atlona will bring sales engineers and product managers to their booth at InfoComm 2024 to discuss design options and customer needs. The company's cloud-based setup application, Atlona Cloud, offers an extensive library of Atlona and third-party device drivers. Atlona Cloud also provides a wealth of icons for each button on the AT-VKP-8E.

One of Atlona's demos will show how their new CS31 Series of compact matrix switchers can acknowledge incoming emergency messages and mute other systems in the room. This feature underscores Atlona's commitment to providing comprehensive AV solutions that cater to the needs of modern educational institutions.

Dealers and integrators are sending fewer representatives to InfoComm 2024 to keep up with their volume of work. However, the conference continues to attract more end-users, including decision makers and C-Level executives from the education and corporate verticals.

In conclusion, Atlona's focus on USB-C connectivity and the 21:9 aspect ratio, coupled with their innovative products and solutions, promises to make their booth at InfoComm 2024 a must-visit for attendees.
