In a shocking turn of events, German handball club Füchse Berlin finds itself in turmoil following the unprecedented double dismissal of sports director Stefan Kretzschmar and coach Jaron Siewert. The subsequent hiring of Nicolej Krickau has sparked massive criticism and incomprehension among fans.

The club's boss, Bob Hanning, faced the wrath of fans in the top game, being loudly booed and partly insulted. The new coach, Krickau, experienced a debut to forget, being met with boos at the press conference.

Despite the turbulence, the Berlin Foxes, who had the best season in their history just a few months ago, are gearing up for their next tough opponent in the Bundesliga, VfL Gummersbach, on Sunday. Right back Omar Ingi Magnusson stated that the team was focused from the first minute, had a good plan, and stuck to it.

Lukas Mertens, a key player, expressed a positive attitude, stating that he had a really good feeling during the game, like he hasn't had in a long time, and everything just worked. However, Mathias Gidsel and Fabian Wiede, star players of Füchse Berlin's handball team, have denied media rumours that they were behind the dismissal of their former coach, Jaron Siewert. The players are still emotionally affected by the dismissal, and it remains to be seen how long it will take them to process it.

Gidsel also expressed that the turbulent days following the dismissal had been emotionally challenging for the players. He added that the decision to dismiss Siewert was not made by the players, but by the club, and that it was difficult for them, particularly due to the personal significance of Siewert to Gidsel. Krickau admitted that he understands the fans' reaction, showing the respect they have for Siewert.

In response to the criticism, Hanning stated that he has never let himself be influenced by others' opinions in his life, and that he makes decisions for the club. The Berliners start their Champions League season against Nantes on Thursday. The team of Bennet Wiegert impressively underscored its championship ambitions with the clear win against SC Magdeburg, a victory that came after the team suffered a 32:39 defeat against the same opponent following the dismissal of Siewert.

As Füchse Berlin navigates this tumultuous period, the future of the club remains uncertain. The team will need to find a way to overcome the emotional turmoil and regain its form if it hopes to maintain its position in the Bundesliga and make a strong showing in the Champions League.
