Adrian Ongwae, a poultry farmer and marketing professional, embarked on his golfing journey back in February 2016. It was a friend named Andrew Kombo who introduced him to the sport, and since then, golf has become more than just a game for Ongwae.

Ongwae's golfing journey has taken him to various golf courses across the region, including Limuru Golf and Country Club, Mombasa's Sea-Link Front Course, Kericho, Nyanza, Nyali, Sigona, Vet Lab, Railway, Kitale, and Kisii Sports Club, where he was appointed as the captain last year. He has also played golf in Uganda at Entebbe, Lugazi Hills, Serena, and Kampala, and in Dar es Salaam's Gymkhana.

Despite not yet achieving a hole-in-one, Ongwae remains patient and optimistic. His golfing style includes long, powerful drives and clean putts, which have earned him multiple wins and memorable rounds at various golf clubs. Ongwae's local golf idol is Sammy Mulama, while his global icon is Phil Mickelson.

Golf is a journey filled with fairways, friendships, and family for Ongwae. He has introduced the sport to his nephew, sister, and is working on getting his dad and brothers involved. Interestingly, his wife is learning to play golf and is quickly becoming almost as skilled as him.

Ongwae's iron game is something he jokes about struggling with. Despite expressing interest in going professional, he doubts his ability. However, his personal best handicap of 10 is a testament to his improving skills over time.

Despite his achievements, Ongwae's golfing journey is not yet over. He continues to strive for improvement and looks forward to what the future holds on the greens.
