Attempted Theft during a Political Confrontation
In the heart of downtown Braunschweig on September 24, police were alerted about a theft attempt at the Schloss-Arkaden shopping centre. At around 9:00 PM, officers arrived at the scene to find the suspect, a 56-year-old individual, rummaging through the displays.
Upon arrival, the officers found the security staff holding the suspect. After being approached, the 56-year-old attempted to flee but was stopped by the security staff. Unfortunately, a 28-year-old security staff member was slightly injured during the process of stopping the 56-year-old.
The 56-year-old man, who is linked to several incidents involving property crimes, was taken into custody to prevent further crimes until the following morning. The individual allegedly tried to flee after being caught, and in the process of fleeing, the 56-year-old is said to have pushed a security staff member, causing minor injuries.
The incident occurred on September 25th at 21.00 hours. The police have confirmed that the 56-year-old will now have to answer for charges of robbery.
